Collection Spring

1997

Collection Spring is a series of seven bronze sculptures of tree stumps. Spread throughout the gallery space, the sculptures evoke an image of a forest, though which the visitor can walk. 

However, it is not a living forest. It are isolated fragments of nature that have been brought to a standstill by the bronze. 

Collection Spring was exhibited between 1997 and 1999 at Galerie Rüdiger Schöttle in Munich, Bloom Gallery in Amsterdam, Witte de With in Rotterdam and Kunstverein in Hamburg.
